The Junee RSL Sub-Branch, thanks to a $4,000 sponsorship by ARTC Inland Rail, were able to purchase specialised audio cables and additional speakers to improve the sound system used at yesterday’s ANZAC Day Commemorative Services that were held outdoors at the Junee Cenotaph and then at Junee Reefs Ivor Hall.
The funding from ARTC Inland Rail allowed the Junee RSL Sub-Branch to purchase:
- Four 1600W Portable Speakers
- Three 30m Slim-line Stage Boxes (extends the distance microphones and speakers can be placed away from the Audio Control Booth)
- Multiple 15m and 9m Audio Loom Cables (single multi-core cable with eight separate audio connectors at each end)
- Assorted XLR Microphone and Speaker Cables, in various lengths
- Assorted Power Extension Cords, in various lengths
Mr Greg Zakharoff, President of the Junee RSL Sub-Branch, said “ANZAC Day is an important day where the local community comes together to commemorate the fallen from past conflicts and to honour our veterans and current serving personnel. We really appreciate the support from ARTC Inland Rail for their invaluable contribution towards improving the sound system used during the Commemorative Services held in Junee Shire.”
Mr Zakharoff continues, “We need the sound system to cover the audience, which is spread across an area over 80m long and 40m wide (approximately the size of a soccer field) and the new equipment allows our volunteer Audio Team to quickly and efficiently roll the sound system out.”
The newly purchased audio equipment will continue to be utilised by the RSL Sub-Branch at future ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day Services. It will also be made available to other local community groups for use at their events and festivals through out the year and could potentially help form the basis of a shared community portable sound system.
