Junee Shared Community Resources - Flag Display

Free Display Flags Available to Junee Shire Organisations

The Junee RSL Sub-Branch is pleased to make its display flags available to community organisations and sporting clubs based in or operating within Junee Shire, free of charge.

Whether you’re organising a community event, commemorative service, exhibition or special occasion, the flags can add colour and significance to the occasion.

The collection includes 11 different flag designs, available in full-size and desktop formats, with flag spreaders also available.

We simply ask that the flags are treated with care and returned after use so other organisations can enjoy them too.

To borrow the flags, contact the Junee RSL Sub-Branch with details of your event, including the date, location, which flags you would like to display and how many you need. We can then discuss your requirements and arrange collection and return.

Our Display Flags

Display Flag Poles & Base

The Junee RSL Sub-Branch display flag collection includes the following 11 flags:

  • Australian National Flag
  • Aboriginal Flag
  • Torres Strait Islander Flag
  • Australian Defence Force Ensign
  • Australian Naval Ensign
  • Australian Air Force Ensign
  • Australian Red (Merchant) Ensign
  • New South Wales State Flag
  • Returned Services League of Australia (RSL) Flag
  • New Zealand National Flag
  • United Nations Flag

Desktop Flags — Australian, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander
The flags are available in two formats:

  • Full-size display flags: Each flag measures 1800 x 900 mm and is made from knitted polyester, with a white vertical sleeve to accommodate a 28 mm flagpole. The display set includes a metal base capable of accommodating up to three 2.4 m wooden flagpoles.
  • Desktop flags: Two 300 x 150 mm flags of each design (22 flags in total), supplied with two wooden bases. Each base accommodates up to three flags, allowing you to mix and match the designs to suit the occasion.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

The full-size display flags can be used both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor use, sandbag weights are available to help secure the metal base, with a black fabric cover to conceal the weights and provide a neat, finished appearance.

Flag Spreaders

The display set also includes three gold flag spreaders, which provide an alternative way to display flags on the flagpoles, particularly when displaying a single flag.

The spreaders can also be used when displaying three flags. As the flags may overlap, the centre flag should be positioned at the front to ensure it remains clearly visible.

When arranging the flags, remember to follow the Australian Government’s flag protocols regarding the order of precedence and positioning of the Australian National Flag.

Many larger organisations, including Rotary and Lions, already have their own organisational flag designs. However, their standard flags may not be available in the dimensions required for our display poles or, more importantly, may not have the vertical sleeve needed to mount them.

Before ordering, check with your organisation’s headquarters to see whether they can supply a flag in the required style and dimensions, or provide the appropriate artwork for Flagworld to produce a matching flag.

Flags and Emblems of New South Wales

New South Wales, along with the other Australian states and territories, has its own distinctive flag.

The Flags and Emblems of New South Wales booklet explains the history of the NSW flag and Coat of Arms. The NSW Government promotes the flying of both the Australian National Flag and the NSW State Flag and encourages everyone, particularly young people, to become familiar with the protocols for their correct use.

The booklet also outlines the rules for flying flags and provides information about other important state emblems, including the waratah, platypus and kookaburra.

A high-resolution PDF of the booklet can be downloaded from the NSW Government website.
