Promoting the accessibility of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in community centres, clubs, and organisations is crucial for emergency preparedness.
However, the high cost of acquiring a defibrillator often poses a barrier, leaving individuals in these settings vulnerable during emergencies.
So, Alpha First Aid are offering $500 Grants towards the purchase their Mindray Beneheart C1A Save A Life AED Bundles.
What’s included in the Mindray Beneheart C1A Save A Life AED Bundle
- Mindray C1A Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Wall Cabinet with Alarm & Light
- V Shaped Metal AED Sign
- Shave Pack
What is NOT included in the Alpha First Aid grant funding?
- Balance of the cost of the Mindray Beneheart C1A Save A Life AED Bundle
- Cost of shipping
- Accredited CPR, First Aid, ongoing or additional face to face AED familiarisation instruction
- Out of warranty repair of equipment
- Replacement costs of consumables including batteries & electrode pads
- Replacement or temporary replacement of the AED if it is damaged or unrecoverable through wear and tear, vandalism, accident, theft or misuse

However, organisations can potentially seek funding through other grants to cover some of these costs, especially the balance of the purchase cost for the Mindray Beneheart C1A Save A Life AED Bundle (and perhaps even a First Aid Kit.

The equipment included Mindray Beneheart C1A Waterproof Hardcase AED Bundle; Modular First Kit in a Back Pack which includes seven different care modules: Sprains and Strains, Minor Wounds, Burns, Essentials, Snake Bite, Eye Injury, and Major Trauma (ps: This is now the portable First Aid Kit Junee Community Network will be recommending for future projects that require a portable First Aid Kit); Fire Pro Extinguisher and Blanket Fire Safety Kit; a GME MT610G 406 MHz Personal Locator Beacon with GPS Multicoloured; and a Ezy Storage 100L Waterproof IP67 Clear Storage Container, with wheels to securely store and transport the equipment.
The above groups first applied for the $500 AED grant from Alpha First Aid. Once this was approved, the $500 was listed as a “co-contribution” in the other larger grant applications budget.
The written quote from Alpha First Aid then showed the full purchase price of the Mindray Beneheart C1A Save A Life AED Bundle, less the $500 AED Grant, plus delivery to Junee. This quote was then also included in the larger grant budget support documents.
If you are after a AED and/or First Aid kit for your local community group or sporting club, please ensure you chat with Nicholas from Junee Community Network to discuss how you can best maximise the $500 grant from Alpha First Aid with other funding opportunities.
