Six organisations based in Junee Shire recently shared in $187,146 worth of funding for seven different projects.
These organisations included Junee Business and Trades, Junee Motor Club, Junee Community Centre, Junee Show Society, Junee Junior Rugby League Football Club, and Cooinda Court who received funding thanks to two seperate grants… and the funding will provide essential upgrades to local community facilities and encourage organisational growth and sustainability!
Investing in Rural Community Futures
The IRCF program is in its’ fourth year supporting local not-for-profits in Junee. The programs goal is to support and build the capacity of locally-led organisations, so that they’re better equipped to deliver on their purpose and serve their communities.
Natalie Egleton, FRRR CEO, said “This program is quite unique in the sense that it has operated over a number of years. This means that we get to go on a journey with these organisations, addressing issues they identify and working towards achieving the goals outlined in the road mapping process on what’s almost a step-by-step basis.”
“At this stage of the program, the majority of the local NFPs being funded have previously received a grant through the program and are consolidating their efforts or building capacity to engage in more collaborative projects. The ongoing support and resources provided by this program give the community consistency and the ability to plan for the long-term, both of which are crucial for creating sustainability and self-sufficiency in the future, once the program comes to a close,” Ms Egleton said.

ClubGrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants, Community Infrastructure stream, July 2022
The objective of the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program is to fund the costs of construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure to deliver outcomes for disadvantaged NSW communities including regional, remote and drought-affected areas, culturally and linguistically diverse, disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and disaster-affected communities.
Cooinda Court Aged Care Facility successfully obtained funding for the installation of solar panels on the facility’s roofs and to purchase furniture and equipment for a new community meeting room.
Cooinda Court join Gasworks Motorsport Inc and the Rotary Club of Junee (both of whom received funding in the July 2021) in successfully receiving funding via the ClubGrants Infrastructure grants to bring essential upgrades to local, community operated, facilities in Junee Shire.

Community Building Partnership
Through the Community Building Partnership, the NSW Government invests in infrastructure projects that promote community participation and inclusion — such as access ramps, car park upgrades and equipment sheds.
Since 2018, over nine organisations have received just shy of $140,000 funding from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership fund for projects based within Junee Shire.
The round 2022 saw two local organisations based with Junee Shire (Junee Motor Club and Cooinda Court) join twenty other community organisations from across the Cootamundra Electorate to share in $400,000 of funding.
